What can I do without paying?
You can do everything except read and reply to messages without spending anything. That means creating an account, writing your profile, adding photos, browsing other members and receiving interest. It's enough to see whether the people on the site are your kind of people before you commit.
A membership starts at the point where you want to read and answer messages. Seeing who has viewed or liked you, read receipts and full-size photos also come with a paid membership. Free members see adverts. How it works shows the free and paid features side by side.
Which membership suits you?
The right plan depends on how long you expect to be actively messaging. All three unlock messaging; they differ in length and in how they renew.
| Option | Suits you if | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | You've found one or two people and want to see where it goes | It renews weekly until you cancel |
| Monthly | You expect to be messaging for a few weeks | It renews monthly until you cancel |
| Trial | You want a short, low-cost look at messaging | It becomes a monthly membership unless you cancel before it ends |
How renewal works
Every membership renews automatically at the end of its period, using the same payment method, until you cancel. The trial is the one to watch: when it ends it becomes a monthly membership unless you've cancelled.
To cancel:
- Log in to the members area.
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Cancel the membership and keep any confirmation.
Cancelling stops the next payment; it doesn't delete your profile. If you also want your profile gone, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account, after cancelling. Our log-in help page explains both steps if you can't get in.
What your statement will say
Payments appear under the billing name given at checkout, which may not be "Just Singles", so check it before you pay. If you share a bank account, or someone else checks the statements, it's worth knowing that in advance. If you see a charge you don't recognise, the log-in help page explains what to send to the help centre.
Extras you don't need
The members area also sells optional extras: profile boosts, priority messages, a 24-hour pass and the photo ID badge (a check of your ID and a selfie by LEM Verify that adds a badge to your profile). None of them is required to message anyone. If you're unsure whether something is a one-off or a subscription, read its description in the members area before you pay.
Before you pay: a short checklist
- Browse first. Make sure there are people you want to talk to.
- Read the terms. The members-area terms set out renewal and the refund rules.
- Note the billing name shown at checkout.
- Set a reminder for the day before renewal if you're trying the site for a short spell.
- Never pay a member. Payments to Just Singles only go through the members-area checkout. A member asking you for money is a warning sign; our safety page explains why.

Questions people ask
Is Just Singles free?
Partly. Joining, writing a profile, adding photos, browsing and receiving interest are free. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, so most people look around first and pay only once they've found someone they want to talk to.
Does the trial turn into a monthly membership?
Yes. The trial renews as a monthly membership unless you cancel before it ends, in Settings > Billing. If you only want a short look, set a reminder for the day before it ends.
What will my card statement say?
It shows the billing name given at checkout, which may not be 'Just Singles'. Check it on the payment screen and your confirmation before you pay, so you recognise the charge later.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are limited. When we read the members-area terms on 16 October 2026, a pro-rata refund applied only if at least 40% of the membership period was unused. Read the current terms before you buy, and cancel promptly if you change your mind.
Are the prices the same in the UK?
The table shows US prices as displayed in the members area on 16 October 2026. The members area shows the exact price for your plan before you pay, so check that screen if you are joining from outside the US.
