How to check a dating site for yourself

Five checks tell you most of what you need to know about any dating site, this one included:

  1. Find the company. A real operator is named, with an address, in the terms.
  2. Find out what's free. Look for exactly which features need payment before you enter card details.
  3. Read the renewal terms. Know how long a membership lasts, whether it renews and how to cancel.
  4. Check the statement name on the payment screen, so you recognise the charge.
  5. Look for honest limits. Be wary of any site that promises every profile is genuine; no site can check what people write.

What we don't claim

We don't publish member numbers, success stories or ratings badges, and we don't describe profiles as checked or verified. We don't promise search filters by religion or ethnicity. Just Singles has no connection with other sites that use similar names.

The longer story is on the about page, the step-by-step on how it works, and advice on scams and reporting on the safety page. For password resets, cancelling and deleting, see log-in help.

Questions people ask

Is Just Singles legit?

Just Singles is a dating site run by a named company, High Intent Media Inc, with published members-area terms and a help centre. Joining and browsing are free and you pay only for messaging, which renews until you cancel. Like any dating site, it can't vouch for what members write about themselves, so judge people by how they behave.

What will my bank statement say?

Your statement shows the billing name given at checkout. Check it on the payment screen before you pay, so you recognise the charge later. If a charge you don't recognise appears, contact the members help centre with the date and amount before disputing it with your bank.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are limited and set out in the members-area terms, so read them before you buy. Cancelling in Settings > Billing stops the next renewal, so if you change your mind, cancel promptly and then check the terms for whether any refund applies.

Does cancelling delete my account?

No. Cancelling a membership stops future payments, but your profile stays visible until you delete it. To remove it, cancel first in Settings > Billing, then click your avatar and choose Settings > Delete Account. Doing it in that order means no further payments are taken.
