Privacy policy

By the Just Singles editorial teamUpdated · 3 min read

This notice covers the Just Singles website at justsingles.com: the guides and information pages you're reading now. Your dating account, profile, messages and payments are handled in the members area at members.justsingles.com, under the separate members-area privacy policy.

Who is responsible

The data controller for this website is High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515), registered office 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. You can contact us about privacy through the members help centre.

What this website collects

Very little.

  • No cookies. This website does not set cookies.
  • No tracking or advertising. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and it doesn't build a profile of you.
  • Server logs. The site is a static website hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the service secure and working. Vercel describes this in its privacy notice.

We use these logs only for security and to keep the site running. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

If you use a join box

Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start joining. When you press the button, your browser opens the members-area join page at members.justsingles.com/join with the email address you typed included in that page's web address. From that point it is handled under the members-area privacy policy, not this notice. This website doesn't keep a copy.

Our guides link to government departments, regulators, helplines and other organisations. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control what they collect.

Where data is processed

High Intent Media Inc is based in the United States and Vercel operates a global network, so server logs may be processed in the US and other countries outside the UK and EU. If you have a question about this, contact us through the help centre.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it's used, or to complain to a regulator.

  • UK: under UK GDPR you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO asks that you raise the issue with the organisation first.
  • EU and EEA: under the GDPR you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
  • US: several states, including California, give residents rights over personal data. California residents can contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Because this website keeps only technical server logs and no accounts, most requests about your dating profile are best sent through the members help centre, where your account data is held.

Children

This website and the members area are for adults. You must be 18 or over to join (21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming).

Changes

If we change how this website handles data, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
